HELLO COLORADO!

So I am finally moved into my apartment after driving all night on Sunday. It was a long day considering I had to attend a Nelson family reunion during the day on Sunday and that Saturday had been my grandpa on the other side of the family's 90th birthday party. So as I was saying Sunday was a long day after 2 parties in a row, then driving through the night to get to Colorado Springs by noon on Monday. We arrived all right, my parents and Matt Hammer (like my second brother) helped moved me in. We were able to get my apartment and get all my stuff moved in and go by Wal-Mart to get what else I needed. On Tuesday we bought me a bed and the comcast guy was able to install my internet and cable. I said farewell to my family Tuesday then tried to get settled in a little as well as prepare for my first day of work. Today I woke and got to work early to meet my new bosses and co-workers. During the course of the day I met several co-workers and was able to be shown around the Paralympics building and the broadcast department. I was given an office with a laptop computer that hooks up to a dock so that I can also work through a monitor and large keyboard. I also have a bag for the new laptop, a blackberry curve for a work phone and 3 Nike polos with the USOC logo on them for work attire while at events. I was treated to lunch by my boss in the Athlete's dining hall. It was neat and I saw several athletes in there. After lunch I helped a little bit with converting some old video and also was able to mess with my new blackberry and computer to try and get myself settled in.

I received an unexpected surprise when my boss, on the fly, decided to send me to an event this weekend in Chicago. Originally only person from the office was going to be sent but Jeannie (my boss) thought it would be good for me to go along to get my feet wet and also so that my first business trip would not be me on my own. I am pumped but also a little exasperated because I still haven't gotten all unpacked and now will be spending the weekend (which I thought I would have to unpack and fix my apartment) in Chicago.

After work I walked around campus a little bit and then went to the USA Team store where I get a discount and bought a lanyard for my new employee id. I absolutely love the campus and its landscaping. There are sculptures and statues everywhere, not to mention an awesome fountain, waterfall and pond.

All in all I love my job and the first day was great... I am however really tired and kind of out of food! It was raining when I left work so I did not get to the grocery store yet! Oh well!

God Bless,
Trinity
