Manitou Springs with mom!

After driving to St. Louis for Easter, I swung by Rich Hill and picked up my mother. She drove out to Colorado with me to spend a few days and then fly back. It all worked out nicely for several reasons... number one being that it saved mom money because she only had to buy a one way ticket from Denver to Kansas City, number two mom was able to have a small mini vacation and enjoy some nice weather and cool sites in CO and the third reason was that mom got to see my apartment all put together before I move again. She had only ever seen it once before and that was the day I moved in. She really liked how I had decorated and set up my little place. We drove out on a Sunday and made it back home at night and pretty much just went straight to bed. The next day, Monday, we took a trip to Manitou Springs.

I had told mom about Manitou before and was really glad she got to visit it. It is really such an adorable place and I will be truly sad to not be within miles of it when I move. Mom and I enjoyed several souvenir shops, art galleries, antique stores and many more.

We walked around the town until lunch time when we ate at The Heart of Jerusalem. I had ate there before when I had two friends, Katie and Soa, out to visit and I couldn't resist not sharing it with my mom.

After lunch we walked around some more, going through some shops and then took a small drive out into the countryside to enjoy some of the mountain views.

Including the Garden of the Gods and some interesting photo opps in a town near Manitou!! :D

Around 3:00 PM we headed back toward Manitou Springs and visited the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. BUT that will be a different blog post!

Maybe one day...

So I came across this list of the Top 40 Nature Images today and thought I would share it on here. I love this list and the fact that my favorite photographer Thomas Mangelsen made the cut! :)

Perhaps one day someone I know, or myself will be able to take images like these that stand above the rest. They are truly inspiring!

The Lightning on Easter...

On the evening of Easter a thunder storm hit Micah and I as we traveled across Missouri from Wentzville to Topeka KS.

I thought the pictures I took were beautiful and because I took so many consecutively, they actually looked really cool when put in a video... so that is just what I did.

I hope you all enjoy this little video. The song used is Stand in the Rain by Superchick.

Thanks for viewing, leave comments if you want!

God Bless!!

Great Sand Dunes National Park!

The last day that Katie and Soa were visiting we took a 3 hour road trip to Great Sand Dunes National Park. It was one of the coolest places I have ever been but the weather could have been a little better. Don't get me wrong, it was sunny and warm but the wind was brutal! I was blasted so hard by the sand that my poor exposed legs were sand-burned for two days! Seriously, it was like pins hitting my legs every time the wind picked up.

See the sand burn for yourself:

Other than that it was a lot of fun and provided me with so many awesome photos!

I will try and keep the pics to a minimum but its going to be hard because I took so many and love them all.

Enjoy and God Bless,
Trin
