Wedding: Getting ready :)

After a few hours decorating the reception hall my bridesmaids and I headed to the Stylin' Salon to get my hair done. They did a fantastic job and were very fast doing my hair. I actually contacted that salon after a wedding I shot for someone else because I was impressed with how quickly they had done the bride's hair for that one. After the Salon we all hopped in the car and headed to the ceremony site where my girls and I got ready in an old mansion. It was a great place to get ready with lots of natural light coming in through big windows, several mirrors and lots of room. It was especially handy because it was right next to the courtyard where the ceremony took place. In fact, the bridal party and I exited the mansion through double doors that opened to the aisle during the ceremony.

My make-up lady was fabulous! She is also one of my best friends. :) Courtney Loganbill has always been one of the prettiest ladies I know. So who better to help me look pretty on my special day? It was a special moment for me to have her do that and I just hope that I can help her out that much on her big day!! She did a fantastic job! Love you Court! ;)

Here are some pics of the hair and make-up:

I also had Courtney help me get my veil situated and also to lace up my dress. She works at David's Bridal so she is a seasoned PRO! ;)

Also I might add before getting into my dress my Matron of Honor helped me out in a funny way... I had forgot to remove the tags from the dress and no one had scissors so Brittany used her teeth to get the tag off! LOL

Here are some pics with the dress:

After getting on the dress it was time for my garter. It was kind of neat because my Matron of Honor and BFF made my garter for me. She got married in August and I was her Maid of Honor and had made her a blue garter then also. It was a neat gesture for us to make each other's garters and so therefore we put them on each other. LOL They were also both blue! We both actually wore two garters on our weddings days so we could keep the blue hand-made ones for keepsakes. ;)

After that the finishing touches were my bracelets and earrings. I have already talked about the jewelry I wore for the day in a past post. I had my mother put my earrings in as well as put her mother's bracelet on me (grandma passed away years ago) and then I had my other grandmother put the rest of my pearl bracelets on me. :)

After all that I was ready to head out to see my future husband. :D

Wedding: The set-up

Well it has been three months but I am going to try and finish up the stories from my wedding that I started back in November. I am doing this for others to read and see but mostly for me to have a collection of all the special stories and pictures in one place. I posted about some special memories and traditions in November but now that I have ALL my pictures I am going to try and start at the beginning.

The day of the wedding started bright and early at 6 AM. I was nervous before that morning not because of the actual wedding but because of how much we had to do. I was afraid that we wouldn't have enough time since I was NOT able to decorate the ceremony site OR the reception hall until that day. However that morning I had lots of amazing help including friends, bridesmaids, groomsmen, ushers, parents, cousins and lots of other family.

Here is the blank canvas we had to start with at the reception hall:

Everything came together nicely and in perfect timing! Nothing took too long or didn't work out. Even the weather cooperated nicely, it was a warm and sunny day. :)
